    Enterprise Data Architect

     

    About this Position

     

    In this role, you will enable us to use data and systems information to help drive change and modernization efforts for the Enterprise Architecture team.   The Enterprise Information Architect is responsible for establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytic solutions to key stakeholders. The Enterprise Information Architect operates across organizational and technology "silos" to implement a platform capable of providing consumable analytics appropriate to end users’ needs. The Enterprise Information Architect ensures the reliability and sustainability of the Company’s platform. This role works closely with Information Security, Technology and Business Subject Matter Experts, IT and Business Leaders.

     

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    In this Role:

    • Develop and refine data architecture strategy by working with business and IT leadership to modernize data-related systems to make data available for use cases and data-driven decision-making
    • Use expertise to work with IT and business leaders to architect scalable system solutions, including databases, scripts, applications, and infrastructure, that reduce data redundancy, comply with requirements, improve data quality and data flow, and maintain security
    • Use expertise to source and document data requirements, determine the current baseline of data architecture, develop a target state for data architecture, perform gap analysis to develop a data roadmap to resolve gaps, and gain partner support
    • Use expertise to lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and use emerging technologies in the domain of data systems that meet feasibility, performance, governance, and TOGAF framework standards
    • Be accountable for database performance and availability by collaborating with IT and partners to identify and resolve development and production issues
    • Identify and document patterns in data relationships from disparate systems, working with large amounts of structured and unstructured data
    • Demonstrate advanced understanding of the data warehouse discipline, including data lakes, data mapping, data mining, data dependencies, structured and unstructured data, SQL, and ETL
    • Demonstrate expertise in data modeling, relational database technology, transaction processing, and data warehouse design
    • Demonstrate knowledge and suitability for an agile scrum development environment
    • Partner with peers in the Chief Data Office to help make data analytics and reporting accessible for data-driven decision-making, while ensuring compliance with data governance policies and practices
    • Write, maintain, and communicate data design documentation to inform development teams on creating integrated solutions for the data strategy

    Required Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • 10 years of systems architecture experience, with a heavy emphasis on data architecture and data integration
    • 5 years of hands-on IT experience, to include data warehouse, business intelligence, custom development, data analytics and reporting, master data management, requirements gathering, and solutions design
    • Experience leading others through change
    • Knowledge of emerging data and analytics technologies (i.e. Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, Azure Data Lake, etc.)
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms and development patterns (i.e. AWS, Azure, MapReduce, etc.)
    • Knowledge of the following disciplines: machine-learning, statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics
    • Advanced knowledge of architecture frameworks (i.e. TOGAF, DAMA, etc.)
    • Business requirement gathering and solutions design skills
