  • Overview

    The Clinical IT Analyst works collaboratively with the Vice President of Clinical Informatics regarding the implementation of clinical applications in multiple LTAC and rehab hospitals in support of interdisciplinary, patient-focused care.  Must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure highly accurate work results.  This position requires frequent travel, between 60- 80%.  Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.  This is an exempt position.



    • Workflow documentation for Rehab and Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospitals.
    • Configuration and set-up of the EMR Clinical modules
    • Responsible for training nurses, therapists and physicians on clinical EMR application at hospitals nation-wide.
    • Responsible for Go Live support of EMR applications during the Go Live period, as well as post Go Live period.
    • Processing changes to Clinical EMR templates as requested and approved by the Dir of Clinical Informatics and the EMR Steering Committee.
    • Supports communication, workflow documentation, issue reporting between clinicians, IT, vendor and other related support departments
    • Analysis and problem resolution of clinical computer applications and other computer systems as required – Application include but are not limited to:
    • Patient Care Documentation
    • Transcription
    • Pharmacy
    • Lab
    • Radiology
    • Order Entry
    • Other Clinical Applications as required
    • Investigation and resolution of issues reported to the IT Service Desk that are Clinical application related.
    • Take direction from Dir Clinical Informatics  
    • Collaborate with IT team, representatives from the hospitals and MEDHOST support.
    • On call support

    Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

    • Extensive (2 – 4 years) MEDHOST EMR Implementation experience REQUIRED.
    • Clinical degree REQUIRED (e.g., Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Medical, Pharmacy, Physical therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech therapy).
    • Two – four years’ experience in clinical EMR implementation and training.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and highly accurate work are essential
    • Able to work on multiple projects involving multidisciplinary teams
    • Experience with nursing documentation and CPOE development and maintenance of order sets preferred
    • Able to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation
